What makes Art Barn so special?

Art Barn is a unique and charming art studio nestled in the beautiful town of South Orange, NJ. Built in 1892, this historic carriage-house-turned-art-studio combines an intimate and cozy setting with the perfect balance of indoor and outdoor activity. The occasional wildlife sighting, from adorable bunnies to gentle fawns, add to the studio's charm, making each visit feel magical. The Ohemeng family lovingly restored the barn in 2018, transforming it into an inviting space that has been recognized in national publications such as Better Homes and Gardens and House Beautiful, as well as the beloved neighborhood publication, Matters Magazine. Most importantly, Christine and the Art Barn staff are warm and welcoming and see to it that each camper feels seen, heard, and included.

Summer ‘25 Camp

Calling all art lovers! Come discover the magic of the Art Barn this summer.

Each week, under the guidance of Christine, or another lead instructor, and three camp counselors, campers will be led through various art methods. Campers will learn about different artists as well as various parts of the world in which these methods originated, gathering inspiration for their own designs. At the end of each session, students will display their work at our eagerly anticipated open studio.

Movement fosters creativity. At the Art Barn, many of our art activities require us to be outdoors and active. Campers are given multiple movement breaks each day where they are able to explore the large yard and playground, or play an organized backyard game. If a camper wishes to have a less active break, they are welcome to create at our sensory and crafting table.

The Art Barn is located in the Lower Wyoming section of South Orange. Address will be shared upon registration.

• Cancellation policy: A full refund (less a $45 administrative fee) will be issued if you cancel at least 45 days prior to the start of class. Cancellations within 45 days are non-refundable. If a cancellation is made within 45 days of a class’ start date, a credit will be given to use at a future date.

• Use code SIBLING to receive 10% off of one child’s registration at checkout.

• Use code EARLYBIRD until 12/18 to receive $35 off of each camp week.

• Use code MULTIWEEK after 12/18 to receive $65 off when registering for two or more sessions of camp.

• Only one code may be used at checkout

• A minimum of 7 children is required to run.

• In the event of cancellation due to low enrollment, a full refund will be issued.

• There are no makeups or refunds for missed classes.

• If a camper exhibits unsafe behavior, or is physically or verbally abusive towards other campers or camp staff, they will be expelled from camp without a refund.
