CORPORATE TEAM BUILDING

Come together as a team to connect and create. Artist and surface pattern designer Christine Llewellyn Ohemeng is excited to lead business teams through unique creative team building activities.

During our time together, you will learn the basics of your chosen textile printing technique, focusing on process and experimentation, and not on creating a “perfect” final product. You will leave having deepened your connection with colleagues through experimentation and creative expression.

Workshops can be held for a small group at the Art Barn, or at an office or other location.

PRINTING TECHNIQUES:

Host must select one:

  • BLOCK PRINTING

Discover the magic of this meditative printing technique! Learn all about block printing through instruction, demonstration and hands on practice. We will discuss the tools and techniques used for carving, inking, and stamping and will explore different repeat pattern arrangements. Each participant will leave with the rubber or linoleum block that they created as well as a printed tote bag and matted art piece ready to be framed and hung.

  • MARBLING

Learn the basics of the Turkish ebru marbling technique. The workshop will include instruction, demonstration and hands on practice. We will discuss what is required to prep your surface for printing and explore various methods to create different marbled patterns. Each participant will leave with a set of beautifully marbled ceramic coasters and a wooden beaded necklace.

  • SHIBORI INDIGO DYEING
Learn the fundamentals of the shibori method of pattern making. Through instruction, demonstration, and hands on practice you will learn how to prepare your fabric for dyeing, create your indigo vat, and employ different “tie and bind” techniques to produce a variety of patterns. Each participant will leave with at least two items that they have dyed themselves. (Please note that shibori dyeing is best suited for outdoors. Running water must be available at the site.)
